SWARMFALL is a top-down 3/4 view twin-stick PvPvE extraction shooter set in a post-apocalyptic universe where earth's insects super-mutated by an alien virus have taken over the planet, forcing Humanity into a battle of survival. Players will play as Mercenaries, seeking valuable gear and resources, improving their bases of operations, and taking out any opposition they run into along the way.
In SWARMFALL, players will choose their Mercenary, gear them up, and enter match-based games with up to 12 other players, in teams of up to 3 people. During the match, players will face PvE insect enemies, other mercenaries, and find loot and gear around a 1km by 1km map. Players have the option to leave the match at any point by reaching one of the extraction points located around the edges of the map. If players get killed during a match, all the gear and loot they had on their Mercenary is left on their corpse, to be lost to the insects or claimed by other players.
The players have a maximum of 1 hour to loot, fight and extract from a match, or they will be automatically assumed dead. Each match will also hold one or a few high-priority insect targets, which drop a highly valued Infested Heart once killed. Players can attempt to extract with the Infested Heart, but carrying it will reveal their location on the map to all other players in the match.
SWARMFALL will be similar to the likes of Escape From Tarkov, Hunt Showdown, Marauders, Bungie's upcoming Extraction Shooter: Marathon, and upcoming extraction shooter Beautiful Light.
